Glazer plans to build eight houses on the 1.8 acre property, the New Canaan Advertiser said.
The builder insisted that the Inn house itself, which dates back to 1783, would be preserved, reported the New Canaan Advertiser.
The Jaffres have reached a deal with Glazer to keep the inn open until the end of the year, with ownership transferring in January, the New Canaan Advertiser noted.
