Nighttime Repairs Set For Five Bridges Along I-95 In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Nighttime repairs are scheduled for various bridges along both northbound and southbound I-95 in Stamford, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on its website. 

The work, which will require lane closures, will continue through Nov. 15.

The bridge work consists of bridge joint replacement on these I-95 bridges:  

  • Bridge over Greenwich Avenue and Rippowam River
  • Bridge over Washington Boulevard
  • Bridge over Atlantic Street
  • Bridge over Canal Street
  • Bridge over Elm Street

Expect lane closures on I-95 northbound and southbound between Exit 7 for Greenwich Avenue and Exit 9 for Seaside Avenue in Stamford. The regular work schedule for this project is 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday evenings.

This project is included in the DOT’s bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs. The work is being performed by Costello Industries.

Signs and traffic control personnel will guide motorists through the work zone. Maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. Weather delays or other issues could extend or change the work schedule.
