NORWALK, Conn. Four Norwalk firefighters were promoted Tuesday in a swearing-in ceremony at the Volk Station. Family members, friends and fellow firefighters looked on as Lts. Adam Markowitz and Mark Franzen became captains and firefighters Nick Giancaspro and Scott Rywolt became lieutenants.
Their promotions were made possible by the recent retirements of Capt. Scott Ready and Capt. Michael Siano, both of whom served the city for 30 years. Mayor Richard Moccia and Fire Chief Denis McCarthy administered the oaths of office.
