Karola M. Schuette, 90, Of New Canaan, Worked For Union Trust Bank

NEW CANAAN, Conn. - Karola M. Schuette, a resident of New Canaan since 1969, died Sunday, June 23. She was 90.

Originally from Offenbach, Germany, Schuette came to this country as a war bride at the end of 1947 and became an American citizen. Over the years she moved frequently with her husband  and family within the tri-state area before settling in New Canaan. She was among the first residents at the new Schoolhouse Apartments in 1992 and was involved with many events held there. She was a member of the choir and music committee at the Congregational Church in New Canaan for many years.

Schuette worked from 1972 to 1990 at the former Union Trust Bank. While employed at the bank she became a notary and continued her notary services at the New Canaan Library upon her retirement.

Schuette is survived by daughters, Margaret Schuette of New York City, Carolyn Mendez (Tony) of Bridgeport, Dorothy Schuette of Norwalk; Anthony Molgano of Norwalk; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Schuette; and son, William F. Schuette.

A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at the Congregational Church, 23 Park St., New Canaan on Saturday, July 20, at 2.
