Attempted Murder Case Delayed Again For New Canaan Husband

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The trial of a former White House lawyer charged with trying to kill his wife in 2010 in their New Canaan mansion was delayed again last week, according to the New Canaan News online .

J. Michael Farren. a White House attorney in the administration of President George W. Bush from 2007-09, was granted additional time to prepare his defense with a ruling expected June 5 from the state Appellate Court on a motion requesting he be allowed to present a mental-defect defense, the New Canaan News reported.

In December, Mary Margaret Farren won a $28 million judgment against her husband in a civil lawsuit for the injuries she suffered in the attack. J. Michael Farren is accused of trying to kill her on Jan. 6, 2010, two days after she served him with divorce papers.
