New Canaan Woman Charged With Stealing From Employer

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- A New Canaan woman has been charged with stealing $8,359.80 from the Elm Street business where she worked, said New Canaan Police.

She arrested Wednesday after turning herself in to police.

Charged with third-degree larceny was Janet Amezquita, 40, of 9 E. Hills Drive. She was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 25.

Police said they were contacted on Aug. 17 about the theft, which eventually led them to Amezquita. Police didn't release the name of the business.
