NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Ground has been broken for a long-awaited school expansion in New Canaan, according to a report by The New Canaan Advertiser.
Just hours after school let out for the summer, education and local officials – with the help of a few students – took shovels in hand June 16 at Saxe Middle School to symbolically launch the $18.6 million project, The New Canaan Advertiser reported.
The overcrowded school is getting a renovated auditorium and a dozen new classrooms, The New Canaan Advertiser story said.
Construction is expected to be completed in the fall of 2017, according to The New Canaan Advertiser report.
