New Canaan HS Students Perform In Their Own Plays At Drama Festival

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan High School Theatre’s 26th annual Drama Festival will be performed Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. on the NCHS auditorium stage.

The students wrote the plays and will produce and perform in them. They entered their one-act theme-based plays, and four were chosen to be performed at the festival. 

This year’s theme is “Everything Must Change." Students are in charge of all aspects of the production: writing, directing, casting, costumes, etc. 

The winners of this year's festival are: 

  • First place: "Floss" by Chloe Rosenberg.
  • Second place: "Everything’s Changed" 2025 by Joseph Turner. 
  • Third place: "The Science of Farrah Fawcett Hair" and "How to Survive High School" by Kaitlyn Sandvik.
  • Fourth place: "The New King" by Nick LaMorte. 

Honorable mentions are "Restarting" by Jack Dunn and "Thorns" by Katie Colwell. 

Tickets are $12 and will be sold at the door only (cash or check only). The lobby box office will open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 203-594-4600.
