New Canaan To Open Improved Tennis Facility At Mead Park

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — New Canaan will open up its rebuilt tennis facility at Mead Memorial Park on Saturday.

The renovations include new fencing, new nets and poles, new on-court and spectator benches, attached new court numbers, resurfaced and cleared paths, a cleaned and repaired tennis hut, a leveled and repaired tennis drive, landscaped grounds, and repaired water fountains, the town’s website said.

The Grand Opening events will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include a ribbon cutting with First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III at 11 a.m.

There will also be refreshments, door prizes and, of course, tennis.

If it rains, the opening ceremony will be June 8.
