Young New Canaan Runners Dominate Cross Country Meet

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- Runners from the New Canaan Blazers youth running team took eight of the top 10 spots in a cross country meet last week.

Competing against St. Aloysisus and St. Luke’s, New Canaan runners dominated the meet by taking the top six places.

Leading the way for New Canaan was Brendan Mulvany, who finished as the top 7th grader with a time of 10:41. Bart Codd took second in 10:59, followed by Patrick Colwell in 11:12.18.

Dylan Imbruce was first among sixth graders in 11:13, and Cameron Appleby led eighth graders in 11:17. Ryan Mushkin finished sixth for New Canaan in 11:38.45.

Jack Goetz (eighth) and Matt Sandor (ninth) also finished in the top 10.

Other runners for New Canaan were Luke Riley, Alex Rashad, Eva Finn, Ted Holahan, Skylar Bennett, Ben Click, Fredrick Asker, Heather Bjerke, Jamison Mumo, Max Nurzia, Valentina Londono, Clara Hennessey and Ellie Collier. The team is sponsored by New Balance New Canaan.
