She was 85 Margiotta was born Dec. 13, 1930, in Manhattan, to her Frank and Veronica Sepi Lombardi. She married Victor Gerard "Jerry" Margiotta on May 2, 1953. Margiotta, her husband and their children owned and operated the Paradise Restaurant in Verplanck. In 2008, Margiotta received the Italian-American Woman of Distinction from the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society in Verplanck. Helen Z. Zuck, 90, West Harrison WEST HARRISON, N.Y.-- Lifelong resident of West Harrison, Helen Zuck died Sunday, Dec. 13. She was 90.Zuck was born Jan, 18, 1925 in West Harrison. She graduated from White Plains High School in 1942. She worked for Duvernoy Bakery and Dellwood Diary, both in White Plains.  She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in West Harrison and was active in church affairs and was a long time lector. She was President of the Lt. Joseph R. Grillo Post 5463 Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the West Harrison Senior Citizens.  She was predeceased by her brother Vincent C. Zuck.

Beacon Resident, 72, Caught With Crack BEACON, N.Y.-- A 72-year-old Beacon resident was arrested after police found a substance that was allegedly crack cocaine on his clothing and in his possession, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Cuyler Reddy Jr. was stopped by police for an equipment violation while driving his car Friday, Dec. 11, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported. East Fishkill Residents Lose Three-Year Battle Aginst Cell Tower EAST FISHKILL, N.Y.-- A three-year battle against a proposed cell tower along the Taconic Parkway has come to an end with residents losing out, says the Poughkeepsie Journal. Many residents did not want a cell tower to be built along the parkway, but businesses in the area complained that the dead zone was hindering their ability do business. Some 35,000 commuters are also effected, the Poughkeepsie Journal said. Poughkeepsie Man Sentenced To 30 Years For Drug Posession POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-- A Poughkeepsie man was sentenced to 30 years in a state prison for having a quarter pound of cocaine and heroin in his possession, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Police arrested Levy G. Lassiter, 52, in March 2014 after finding drugs, drug sales paraphernalia, $13,000 in cash and two cell phones, the Poughkeepsie Journal reported. It will run from 10 a.m-12p.m. and people can drop in anytime between those hours. Preregistration is required.
