Bergen County Paramedic, 22, Killed In Crash Had 'Just Begun American Dream,' Obit Says
Services have been finalized for Marcin Bednarz, a 22-year-old paramedic from Bergen County who died in a New York crash on Sunday, April 28. Marcin, a paramedic with the Wallington Fire Department, was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Arden Valley Road in Tuxedo, N.Y. at 3:18 p.m., according to a New York State Police report. Hudson Grammar School Teacher Admits Sharing Child Porn
UPDATE: A now-former Hudson County grammar school teacher from Morris County admitted in federal court that he trafficked child porn. Anselmo Girimonte, 53, of Wharton, had taught Italian in grades 3 through 8 in the Kearny School District since 2006, according to his LinkedIn profile. Three Stabbed At McDonald's: Newark PD
Three people were stabbed at a McDonald's in Newark on the evening of Wednesday, May 1, authorities said. At 6:40 p.m., police responded to the McDonald's at 569 McCarter Highway and located two women and one man who had been stabbed by a male suspect following an altercation, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. The victims were transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition, Frage said. The stabbing remains under investigation, Frage said.

A fiery explosion left one woman dead and four others hurt at a manufacturing company in Old Bridge on Wednesday, May 1, authorities said. Eileen Marco, 73, of South River, was killed at the scene of the explosion at Superior Signal Company, LLC in Old Bridge at approximately 11:20 a.m., Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. A 15-year-old Bayonne teenage girl was arrested on Monday, April 29 after she 'swatted' William Shemin Midtown School earlier that day, authorities said. A 17-year-old girl is in critical condition after she was shot near a high school in Newark on the early morning of Tuesday, April 30, authorities said. At 12:18 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of 14th Avenue at South 15 Street, near West High School, and found the gunshot victim, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Frage said. A teen from Newark was accused of stealing a vehicle in Ocean County, authorities said. Fazon Farrington, 19, was charged on Monday, Apr. 29 with theft of movable property and burglary.
