There will be lane closures on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Westchester for several days to permit for tree cutting efforts along the highway. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert announcing single lane closures in both directions of the parkway in Pelham and Mount Vernon between exit 10 (East 3rd Street) and exit 13 (Cross County Parkway) this week. There will be single and double-lane closures for the foreseeable future on two major parkways in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 18 on the southbound side between the New York/Connecticut state line and I-287 (Exit 21) in Westchester. There will be daily road closures on the Taconic State Parkway in the area as contracting crews perform construction activities. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an advisory that there will be lane closures in both directions between the Westchester-Putnam county line and exit 31 (Route 301) beginning on Sunday, May 17. This story has been updated. A section of the Saw Mill Parkway has reopened after a serious crash caused its closure for hours in Northern Westchester. The crash, on the southbound side, happened near Exit 42 (Route 117) in Bedford on Friday morning, Feb. 7.
