Two Major Greenwich Roadways Closed
Police are warning motorists to avoid two main roadways in Greenwich that are closed in sections due to downed trees and wires. As of 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, North Street is closed by Hurlingham Drive due to a fallen tree and wires, according to dispatch reports. In addition, high winds have brought down another tree and wires, closing King Street between Anderson Hill Road and Stonehedge Drive. Police did not know how long repairs will take. Daytime I-684 Lane Closures Scheduled For Weekend
Motorists traveling on I-684 over the weekend may see delays as crews continue construction work in North Castle and Harrison. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, there will be double lane closures on the interstate between exit 1 (I-287) and exit 3 (Route 22), weather permitting. The NYSDOT said that during the maintenance work, there will be delays, and motorists should plan accordingly. There is expected to be traffic control devices, signs and flaggers in the area to assist with the flow of traffic.

Tractor-Trailer Overturns On I-84
This story has been updated. The left lane on a stretch of I-84 reopened earlier than expected after a crash involving an overturned tractor-trailer on Thursday morning, Feb. 21. The westbound incident occurred in Putnam County at Route 311 (Exit 18). A heavy tow-truck wrecker arrived at the scene and removed the trailer at around 8 a.m. The lane had originally been expected to be closed until about 10 a.m., state police said. Mill Street Bridge Connecting Greenwich, Port Chester Reopens
This story has been updated. A busy roadway that connects Greenwich to Port Chester has reopened after an hours-long closure Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 19. Heavy traffic occurred in the area after the closure of Mill Street Bridge due to a gas leak at around 1:30 p.m. The bridge reopened just before 5 p.m.

The incident, reported around 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, occurred on the southbound side between Route 33 (Exit 17) in Westport and Center Street (Exit 19) in Norwalk. Serious Injuries Report In Wrong-Way, Head-On Crash On I-91
This story has been updated. A stretch of I-91 has reopened after a head-on crash involving a vehicle going the wrong way causing its closure for hours, state police said. The closure was on the northbound side in Wethersfield between exits 25 and 27 following the two-vehicle crash with what state police described as serious injuries. Due to delays in the demolition of St. John’s Tower and a partial collapse on Wednesday, police in Stamford announced a road closure in the area surrounding the construction site. The Stamford Police Department announced that due to the ongoing demolition of the tower, Washington Boulevard is closed north and south between Main Street and Tresser Boulevard.
